classic inverted fishtail
inverted fishtails are one of the easier designs, popular, striking and fashionable!
first you need your loom and some bands (obviously).
then you need to get one band and put it into a figure of 8 shape on two of the loom pegs.
next you add another band on top of it, but not in a figure of 8 - just a plain band stretched across the two pegs. do that once more. next get your loom hook and hook it onto the bottom one in the 8 shape. next is the hard part. you take your hook and hook the 8 loop on one side over the other two so it looks like a stitch. do the same with the other side of the 8. it SHOULD look a little bit like two stitches across the bands.
next, add another loom band on top of all this. once again take one of the bands which has now, you'll see, moved to the bottom of the pile. hook this with your loom hook and 'stitch' both sides once again. then put another one on, and like before hook the bottom one and make the stitch. continue this and soon you'll see
that is is beginning to make a fishtail pattern, trailing down at the base of the loom. complete the above steps until it is long enough, slide it carefully off the loom (as it can start to come apart as you take it off the loom, so be careful and possibly use a paperweight to hold down the end), then fasten the ends with an S-shaped hook, like you would with any other loom wristband. you're done! you can now wear them anywhere!
